Farah delves into the complex dynamics of the relationship between a mother and eldest daughter, exploring themes of generational trauma, emotional legacies, and communication gaps. This second installment of her Growing Pains series is a video installation and paintings centered around the color red (anger and wisdom) that encourages an open dialogue about hurt and healing, offering space to express emotions and begin breaking the cycle of pain.
Wasima Farah is a Graphic Designer and Visual Artist with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing Education from CEHD (College of Education and Human Development) at the University of Minnesota. With a love for art and film, she started her freelance career as a Graphic Designer in 2017 working with brands and organizations and working as Creative Director at The Digital Sisterhood, Graphic Designer and Creative Strategist at Soomaal House of Art, and Graphic Designer at Rabata.
